LINGUISTICS
The aim of the article is to reveal cognitive bases for studying the discursive personality of a veterinarian. The work was done on a material of the Russian National Corpus from
18th-21st centuries. The contexst for the analysis were selected using the Russian National Corpus and internet-resource Kartaslov.ru. Cognitive features of fiction characterizing the model of personality that takes care of animals were described. The results revealed inconsistency of this model with predominance of negative connotation and integration of the concepts of konoval and veterinarian in the Russian literature.
The purpose of this article is to analyze the formation of substantive adjectives in Latin, Russian and French as a result of the communicative and cognitive function in medical terminology. In the process of communication in binominal terms N+Adj, the noun ellipses, the adjective receives the referential meaning of the entire binomial term and the status of a noun. The derivation of substantiated adjectives from the construction N+Adj gives grounds to call it an elliptic construction. An analysis of examples from dictionaries and media texts showed that the lexicalization of substantiated adjectives takes place differently in each language and not for the same terms.
This article presents the mechanism of representation of the cognitive-discursive potential of the author's concept atom (spirit) on the example of the dependence of the levels of linguistic and mental representation of the basic concept. The internal structure of the object under study is revealed in line with the cognitive-discursive approach to the study of linguistic phenomena, which makes it possible to identify the specifics of speech-thinking operations of the subject of speech. The analysis of the concept revealed the syncretic nature of the author's method of modeling the scientific and philosophical picture of the world.
The article analyzes the current emotional challenge of nature – the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical pyramid of Abraham Maslow is used to demonstrate the most important need for human security during this challenge. The lexico-syntactical dictionary proposed by the author under the name “Covidemes” is analyzed. The stylistic differentiation of covidemes is classified into three groups: medico-administrative; sarcastic; colloquially ironic. The conclusion is made about the significant place of ecologically-marked nominations with a predominance of negative attitude to the pandemic. The defensive reflection of the speaking person in a jokingly ironic nomination to his life danger is emphasized. It is established that A. Maslow's principle of safety is dominant in the psycho-emotional situation during the situation of COVID-19 pandemic.
EDUCATION
The article analyzes the results of a survey of foreign students aimed at identifying problems and difficulties associated with distance learning during the pandemic. Students of the Volgograd State Technical University took part in the survey. Based on the opinion of students, the pros and cons of the online education system are formulated, ways of self-improvement are established during the period of forced isolation, the expectations of students associated with the new academic year are characterized. The survey is considered as a method of empirical research, the types, forms, methods and functions of the survey are described; the structure and content of the questionnaire are described; the features of the survey in a foreign audience are established.
The article describes the personality-centered systemic hierarchical model of foreign languages teaching developed by the author. The necessity and relevance of this approach are due to changes in the needs for foreign languages learning and the obvious shortcomings of traditional approaches. The proposed model is a learning system, which focuses on the language personality with its needs, interests, opportunities, acquired experience and skills. The model consists of three stages or the sphere of communication: the sphere of everyday communication (basic course), the sphere of business communication, the sphere of professional communication. The main didactic unit of this approach is the text as a system that combines and actualizes the grammatical and lexical units of the language.
