In the article, the lyrical rock-discourse of a well-known Russian musical group ‘Elysium’ is considered. Terms ‘discourse’ and ‘rock-discourse’ are explained. By means of different research methods, mainly the linguostylistic, linguopragmatic and contextual types of analysis, some peculiarities of the studied type of discourse are distinguished. The undertaken research specifically shows that it is common for ‘Elysium’ to address its artistic creation to young people. This corresponds to such a modern communicative trend as juvenilization of speech which is manifested in the use of spoken or jargon words. Sometimes even tabooed words may be said. At the same time, the lyrical text is characterized by a lofty, if not a poetical pathos, achieved as the result of actualization of certain tropes and speech figures.
The paper focuses on English language tools used to represent changes in the conceptual framework of marketing. The main current extralinguistic cause of these changes is considered to be the introduction of information technologies in marketing activity. The conceptual changes are characterized as the increase in expert knowledge. The results of the analysis of language tools used for the nomination of cognitive formats representing the new knowledge and/or description of their content support the statement about the interaction and interdependence of cognitive and language structures. They also help to prove the simultaneous dynamics of the language world image created in the sphere of marketing.
The paper dwells upon the terms that appeared in the modern English language due to the COVID-19 pandemic that spread all over the globe in 2020, in particular those with the ‘covid’ terminoelement. The author also analyzes word-building affixes that helped to create new word with -covid- lexeme.
The article deals with a study of somatic idioms (SI) as a special class of phraseological units. The purpose of this paper is to identify the peculiarities of idioms usage with a basic somatic component Arm, describing personality traits. The study was based on the use of 102 idioms from contemporary German dictionaries with the components Arm, Ellbogen, Handgelenk, Hand, Finger, Daumen, Faust and Nagel. The article presents the results of a study on somatic idioms and describes the situations in which they are used in contemporary German.
EDUCATION
At present e-learning is a modern way if educational process implementation that is becoming more and more prevailed. Professor’s preparing the materials for the educational process implementing is much complicated as it demands the development of stepwise directions ad detailed assistance in the activity accomplishment. However, ways and manners of students’ perceiving the information can be referred to some problems which the students are faced with during the educational process. The first and second year students of General Medicine, Pediatrics and Dentistry faculties were studied to determine the ratio of dominant perceptual modality among the students to develop and arrange the educational process in e-mode. The results were the following: audial perceptual modality was 18,3%, kinesthetic perceptual modality rated as 53,3%, and visual perceptual modality – 28,4%. Applying the basic principles of communicative approach, we introduced vocabulary and grammar material with video file. The video files were matched basing on introduced vocabulary and grammar material, sense-feeling as well as gestures and movements of the speakers related to contact sensations. The application of individual approach taking into consideration all the characteristics of the students allows mastering the material successfully and achieving basic goals of the educational process with the implementation of e-technologies.
This article considers the problem of content and language integrated learning of students at a non-linguistic university. The author shows that this approach allows students to learn a foreign language and at the same time to gain knowledge in their specialty. Students acquire the skills to use foreign sources in preparing of term and course papers.
The article is devoted to the problem of formation of the ability of a foreign medical student to professional communication. The importance of training a future specialist in dialogic speech is noted, since dialogue plays a special role in the professional activity of a doctor. Difficulties in the formation of professional communication skills in a foreign student are identified, related to the need to increase his motivation to study the Russian language, with the level of his language training, with his possession of a certain stock of medical terminological vocabulary. The practical significance of the formation of the student's dialogical abilities in the context of future professional activity is characterized.
