Abstract

The article analyzes the image of the hero in Russian and Chinese linguistic culture. The purpose of the study was to identify similarities and differences in the worldview of speakers of Russian and Chinese linguistic culture. The study was conducted using the method of free associative experiment, in which Russian and Chinese students took part. When processing the results, we used the semantic gestalt method proposed by Yu.N. Karaulov. As a result, it was revealed that speakers of both linguistic cultures highly value the hero as an actor, as a selfless person. At the same time, for Russians, the value of a hero lies largely in protecting the homeland. Although this value is also important for the Chinese, they value individual specific heroes more than defenders in general. In addition, for Russian respondents, the actions and fearlessness performed by heroes are more valuable, while for Chinese respondents, their help to the country and people is more valuable.
