The mechanism of syncretism in peripheral taxic complexes with the prepositions bei and durch

This article explores the underlying mechanism of intercategorical synchronicity in the taxicab fields of the German language. Using constructions with prepositional deverbatives, it analyzes how the prepositions bei and durch, when combined with verbal nouns, form integral taxis complexes. It is demonstrated that their semantics are based on the universal principle of semantic dualism, which consists of the simultaneous actualization of the plane of conceptual (logical-modal) antecedence and the plane of actual (situational-procedural) simultaneity. The preposition bei marks a syncretic conditional-temporal accompaniment, where the process of cognition or perception serves simultaneously as both the condition and the temporal background for the result. The preposition durch encodes an instrumental-causal unity, ranging from a procedural means to a precise trigger. It is revealed that semantic dualism is a systemic, constitutive mechanism of syncretism on the periphery of the taxis field.
