In particular, these problems are associated with a vague hierarchy of occupational roles and a poor command of foreign languages that may create obstacles for the professional development and the formation of strong professional identity. Finally, we draw the conclusions on the factors affecting the formation of a strong professional identity in scientists.

Abstract

The role of the principle of self-sufficiency in providing cognitive properties of educational terminological dictionaries and narrow-profile dictionaries representing microterminosystems of medicine and biology is analyzed. The most general features of dictionaries that hinder the cognitive process and make it difficult to master the terminological system as a whole are considered. These include the use of terms that have not been defined in the dictionary, the lack of attention to the presentation of synonyms, and the use of a cluster arrangement of terms in an educational dictionary. The main reasons for the departure from selfsufficiency and measures to comply with it are discussed.

Abstract

This article describes the reason for formation of consubstantial lexemes in the terminological field “surgical instruments” in the German language. The results of the analysis of the terms of this terminological field show that integration of the medical and common vocabulary, as well as the trends towards differentiation and specialization was the main characteristic of the conceptual apparatus of medicine throughout the whole existence of medical science in Germany. The process of terminologization was accompanied by a partial reconceptualization of commonly used lexemes. The presence of consubstantial lexemes in the terminological field “surgical instruments” suggests that scientific knowledge is based on the results of everyday knowledge.
