Abstract
In the article, the lyrical rock-discourse of a well-known Russian musical group ‘Elysium’ is considered. Terms ‘discourse’ and ‘rock-discourse’ are explained. By means of different research methods, mainly the linguostylistic, linguopragmatic and contextual types of analysis, some peculiarities of the studied type of discourse are distinguished. The undertaken research specifically shows that it is common for ‘Elysium’ to address its artistic creation to young people. This corresponds to such a modern communicative trend as juvenilization of speech which is manifested in the use of spoken or jargon words. Sometimes even tabooed words may be said. At the same time, the lyrical text is characterized by a lofty, if not a poetical pathos, achieved as the result of actualization of certain tropes and speech figures.
