Monoreme sentences in a modern french novel (based on the works of Annie Ernaux)

Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the use of monorheme sentences in artistic text based on the works of the French writer Annie Ernaux. The problems associated with the expression of predication in monorheme sentences are considered, the role of monorheme sentences in the artistic text is determined. The analysis of the function of the point at the end of monorheme sentences is carried out. The multiplicity of functions performed by this punctuation mark in artistic text is established. It is concluded that the technique of using a point in monorheme sentences in the novels of Annie Ernaux with the purpose of influencing a potential reader is a manifestation of the author's style.
