The role of english-language borrowings in the development of modern geographical science

Abstract
In the context of globalization and rapid scientific progress, modern scientific disciplines, including geography, are significantly influenced by English-language borrowings. English is becoming the lingua franca in the scientific community, and this leads to the active penetration of English terms and concepts into national languages. The author notes that in geography, as one of the most diverse and complex sciences, this trend is particularly evident. Geography encompasses a wide range of disciplines, such as physical geography, economic geography, and social geography, each with its own methods, approaches, and terminology for studying spatial phenomena. This diversity allows scientists to explore various aspects of human- environment interactions, making geography an important science for understanding global processes and challenges. This paper examines the impact of English-language borrowings on various areas of geography, provides specific examples, describes the causes of borrowing and predicts the prospects for further development of this phenomenon.
