Linguistic realization of the elementary school students’ legal competence

Abstract

The article presents the results of a linguistic experiment to identify legal competence in elementary school students. The tasks that contribute to the production of legal texts are described: preparation of an oral message or story, participation in a role-playing game, participation in an interview / interview, description of pictures, diagrams, document forms, answers to open questions. The texts received by schoolchildren as a result of these tasks are analyzed. The linguistic features of schoolchildren's speech are revealed: the use of special vocabulary (terms, stable expressions), emotionally colored vocabulary, verb forms, grammatical constructions peculiar to the official business style. The conclusion is made about the formation of legal competence among schoolchildren.
