Abstract

The article analyzes the current emotional challenge of nature – the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical pyramid of Abraham Maslow is used to demonstrate the most important need for human security during this challenge. The lexico-syntactical dictionary proposed by the author under the name “Covidemes” is analyzed. The stylistic differentiation of covidemes is classified into three groups: medico-administrative; sarcastic; colloquially ironic. The conclusion is made about the significant place of ecologically-marked nominations with a predominance of negative attitude to the pandemic. The defensive reflection of the speaking person in a jokingly ironic nomination to his life danger is emphasized. It is established that A. Maslow's principle of safety is dominant in the psycho-emotional situation during the situation of COVID-19 pandemic.
