Medical specialist’s blog and its linguistic representation

Abstract
The paper is devoted to the linguistic analysis of medical specialist’s blogs. A medical specialist’s blog is a modern form of educational activities of medical practitioners which traditions were laid down in Russia in the XVIII – XIX cc. The following prototypical characteristics of the blog posts were revealed: the various tropes which are used for the expressivity of the statement, borrowings from the classical languages and English, slang, vernacular vocabulary, the usage of medical terms with their interpretation in spoken language. As a result of the analysis, it was established that the convergent processes (medical knowledge dissemination) are intensifying nowadays causing deinstitualization of medical terminology.
