Abstract

The article attempts to assert the informative cognitive and communicative poten- tial of the category of hypertextuality realized in the digital environment. The digital environment appears as an electronic database constructed in the form of a hypertext system based on a digital technical structure, the elements of which represent similar relationships in real space. A hyperlink that implements the semantic function of hypertextuality in a digital environment is highlighted as a fundamental element of hypertext. In order to prove the cognitive and communicative potential of hypertextuality, an example of a possible conceptualization of the notion “beauty” in an interactive environment is given. As a result, it is concluded that digital search engines can quickly discover correlating concepts, the content of which guides the further cognitive process. It is argued that hypertextuality realization makes it possible to actualize interdiscursive and interdisciplinary connec- tions and identify relevant textual data, the analysis of which саn make changes in the studied concepts conceptual structure.
