Статья посвящена изучению территориальной вариативности субстантивных фразеологических единиц. Цель исследования – выявить сходства и различия субстантивных фразеологических единиц со значением «характеристика человека» Великобритании и США, рассмотреть фразеологические единицы в контексте теории семантического поля. В статье были проанализированы факторы, влияющие на вариативность идиоматических выражений. Фразеологические единицы подвергнуты исследованию с целью выявления национальных особенностей культур народов через рассмотрение языковой вариативности.

The article is about the study of the territorial variability of substantive phraseological units. The aim of the research is to identify similarities and differences between British and US substantive phraseological units with the meaning of "human characteristic", explore phraseological units in the context of semantic field theory. In the article, the factors influencing the variability of idiomatic expressions were analysed. The novelty of the research lies in the need to identify the national characteristics of peoples' cultures through the consideration of linguistic variation.
