Цель проводимого исследования – выявление особенностей лексикографического описания одного из ключевых понятий технической отрасли знания – понятия «прибор».
Процедура и методы. На материале общеупотребительных словарей предпринимается попытка проведения сравнительного анализа вербализации понятия «прибор» в трех языках: русском, английском и немецком.
Результаты. Выявлены различия и сходства в использовании анализируемого термина и его иноязычных эквивалентов.
Теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Теоретическая значимость проведенного исследования определяется тем, что результаты вносят определенный вклад в общую теорию терминографии. Практическая ценность связана с возможным использованием языкового материала и результатов его анализа в практической деятельности преподавателя иностранных языков, терминоведа-теоретика и терминоведапрактика, в общей теории языков для специальных целей.
Aim. To identify the peculiarities of lexicographic definition of one the key concepts in the technical branch of science – the concept of "device".
Methodology. An attempt is made to carry out a comparative analysis the verbalisation of the concept "device" in three languages: Russian, English and German, using the material of commonly used dictionaries.
Results. The differences and similarities in the use of the analysed term and its foreign language equivalents are revealed.
Research implications. The theoretical relevance of the conducted research is determined by the fact that the results make a certain contribution to the general theory of terminography. Practical value is related to the possible use of the linguistic material and the results of its analysis in the practical activity of a foreign language teacher, terminologists in practical and theoretical fields, in the general theory of languages for specific purposes.
