<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The study analyses the concept of “depravity” in English-language literature of the second half of the 20th century, identifying semantic and associative components that reflect the value system of society during that period. It describes the structure of the concept, which includes a core, near-core and peripheral zones, each of which is characterised by a specific set of semantic features and specifiers determined by extralinguistic and linguistic factors of the historical period under consideration (the second half of the 20th century). The results of the research reveal the concept “depravity” in the second half of the 20th century to be a reflection of the value component of the British and American linguistic and cultural communities, expressed in a high level of tolerance for imperfect human nature and the struggle for the rights of various social groups and living beings in general.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>концепт</kwd><kwd>испорченность</kwd><kwd>конкретизатор</kwd><kwd>антоним</kwd><kwd>метафора</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>concept</kwd><kwd>depravity</kwd><kwd>specifier</kwd><kwd>antonym</kwd><kwd>metaphor</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Gromyko A.A.
