Статья посвящена изучению понятийной и образной составляющей семантики неологизма patchworker в современном английском языке. В результате применения семно-семасиологического и дискурсивного подходов к анализу данного и смежного с ним понятий было выявлено, что patchworker является одним из важных маркеров деловой конъюнктуры ХХI века, и в своей семантике обнаруживает латентные признаки, обусловленные образностью его начальной формы, – разносторонность как уникальное деловое качество, открывающее возможности профессионального роста и сохранения заработка, более мотивированный подход к работе, приносящий удовлетворение в силу постоянной смены деятельности и ее содержания.
The article contemplates the imagery and semantic aspects of a patchworker as a neologism in contemporary English. As a result of the semasiological and discursive approach to the study of the notion and its associatives, it has been uncovered that a patchworker is one of the main important markers of the business structure in the ХХI century, with such latent characteristics in its semantics that are specified by the imagery of its initial form as variability - a unique business quality, which enlarges the possibilities of career growth, and profit retention, as well as a more motivational attitude to work, ensuring more job satisfaction based on the constant change of activities and their content.
