Представленная статья посвящена изучению лингвокогнитивных особенностей эмоционального концепта «Sadness» («Печаль») в английском языке на материале текстов Британского национального корпуса (British National Corpus). Актуальность исследования заключается в использовании эффективного метода выявления частотности употребления слов и лексем, отражающих исследуемый концепт. Метод корпусного анализа языка позволяет выявить различные словоформы, идиомы, метафоры и устойчивые сочетания с лексемой «Sadness» («Печаль») в английском языке. Кроме того, методы классификации и компонентного анализа позволили систематизировать и сгруппировать полученный материал по семантической близости. Источниками для анализа также послужили такие словари, как «The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language» и «Merriam-Webster’s Advanced Learner’s English Dictionary». В статье анализируются полученные результаты, отражающие специфические особенности реализации концепта «Sadness» («Печаль») в английском языке. Отмечается также междисциплинарный характер исследования эмоции «печаль».

The presented article is devoted to the study of linguacognitive features of the emotional concept "Sadness" in the English language based on the texts of the British National Corpus. The relevance of the study lies in the use of an effective method for identifying the frequency of use of words and lexemes reflecting the concept under study. The method of corpus analysis of the language allows us to identify various word forms, idioms, metaphors and stable combinations with the lexeme "sadness" in the English language. In addition, the methods of classification and component analysis made it possible to systematize and group the obtained material by semantic proximity. The sources for the analysis also included such dictionaries as "The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language" and "Merriam-Webster's Advanced Learner's English Dictionary". The article analyzes the obtained results, reflecting the specific features of the implementation of the concept "Sadness" in the English language. The interdisciplinary nature of the study of the emotion "sadness" is also noted.
